Option 1: QUALITY PRE-PRIMARY EDUCATION FOR ONE YEAR
Objective:
Provide QUALITY BASIC EDUCATION FOR ONE YEAR for a child of age 4 and prepare her to join regular school with enough skill and self confidence.
Why the need to help?
Both parents are illiterate and daily wage earners. They send their child to balwadi because the child is in safe custody for about 6 hours and also gets free mid-day meal. This helps them to go to their workplace.
Option 2: SUPPLEMENTARY LEARNING IN LANGUAGE AND ARITHMETIC
Objective
Conduct support class to attain COMPETENCE IN LANGUAGE AND ARITHMETIC for students of classes 2 to 5 for about nine months and prepare her to learn other subjects on her own.
Why the need to help?
These children have never had a strong foundation in language and numbers. They are not able to read fluently and have difficulty with comprehension. In arithmetic struggle to do simple addition and subtraction. Both parents not educated sufficiently and are unable to support their wards' education. What the children learn from their school is the end of it.
Option 3: MODERN EDUCATION FOR BACKWARD COMMUNITY CHILDREN
Objective
Provide free education for a deserving child for ONE YEAR IN ENGLISH MEDIUM PRIMARY SCHOOL.
Why the need to help?
Orphans or semi orphans among Tsunami affected children of fishermen families in Nagapattinam (3 to 6 year olds) have not been exposed to modern education. Parents aspire to admit their children in an English medium school and need financial help.
