Meeting with Prime Minister
A team of State leaders of Pratham India Education Initiative led by Mr. Madhav Chavan met the Prime Minister of India Mr. Manmohan Singh on 12.04.2007and apprised him of the READ INDIA campaign taken up through out the nation. The representative of each state briefly explained the status of primary education and the urgent need to improve the quality of teaching.
Tamilnadu was represented by Mr. Ranganathan of Vidyarambam and Dr. Balaji Sampath of Aid India.
