Rotary Vidyarambam School – After 14 weeks

From the seventh week, the formal education  started using regular timetables based on thematic activities.  Computer education, collage art work, coloring, spoken English thro showing film, botanical experiments like sowing seeds and watching the germination and growth day by day were the activities in the activity centre.

Both our consultants Mrs. Prema Daniel and Mrs. Uma Chandrasekhar visited the school in the first week of August and monitored the performance of the teachers and evaluated the skill of the children.  Both of them expressed great satisfaction and admired the staff of the school for their over all performance.

New modern play equipments like 1. Jungle Gym  2. Horizontal Ladder  3. Rope Climber and  4. Merry Go Round Flat Rotor were installed. The training how to use toys and games was imparted to the teachers  by experts from Children Toy Foundation,  Mumbai.   When many new games and toys were introduced, the joy of the kids found no bounds.

A batch of teachers were sent to Isai Ambalam School in Auroville near Pondichery to take training to coach children in reading English fluently using phonemes.  After taking  training, the teachers taught the skill of reading English words with the help of phonemes to our students.  Class I and Class II students are able to read small sentences in English without difficulty. UKG children are able to read about 50 words in English using phonemes.  LKG children are able to identify the alphabet and its phonemes.

All the children have grasped the concept of numeracy.  The Class I & II students are able to do 3 digit subtractions depending on the level of their age.
