| Children’s Day celebrated in the Model School |

November 14th the Children’s Day was celebrated with sports events for the children and cultural program by them. The national flag was hoisted by one of the parents who had gathered in large number to witness the sports performance of their children Almost all the children took part in one or the other sports / events. It was an interesting sight to see every kid of 4 to 7 year old competing with one another seriously and trying to become the winner. The tug of war between the girl and the boy groups was a great fun and the parents enjoyed all the events. The children presented an admirable cultural programme with popular songs and graceful dances. A Class 2 student gave a small speech of what Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru told the Nation after India became independent. The District Social Welfare Officer Mrs. K. Anbazhagi witnessed the sports and the cultural events. She distributed the prizes for all winning children. She addressed the gathering of the parents and gave them a few tips as to how they must maintain the health of the children. She went in detail to describe what type of food is acceptable and which ones are avoidable when they decide the food of the day for the children. The school correspondent Ranganathan explained the parents the detail of the First Term evaluation sheet since many parents had difficulty in understanding the method adopted by the school to grade the children. The parents were happy to see the incredible development and progress in their children within a period of five months. With vote of thanks and national anthem the function came to end and the rest of the day was declared holiday for the children. |
