New Admissions at our Model School in Nagai |
|
More than 100 parents had registered 3 weeks before seeking admission. About 45 of them who were found acceptable on the criteria basis were invited for interview and admission was given to their wards. The disappointed parents made a big hue and cry (including threatening that they would complain to the District Collector) and the staff of our school found it difficult in to make them understand our constraints. The main constraint is lack of space.
Karthika the Project Manager, Prabavathi and Muthukumarsamy, State Asst. Coordinators, Kavitha Nagai District Coordinator joined the entire team of the School in helping the admission process go smoothly.
The following are the reasons which motivates the parents to get their wards into Rotary Vidyarambam School. These reasons are spelt out by the parents themselves during the interview.
- The quality of education is superb. They are thrilled to know that even one year education in Vidyarambam school makes their children bold and self confident to learn many skills.
- The education is free and no charge is collected except for the School Uniform, Insurance and School van charges.
- It is an English Medium school which is a dream coming true for the parents at free of cost.
- The children are treated kindly and the play-way methodology is used for teaching.
- Many toys and games are used for children to play and enjoy.
- The School has well trained teachers dedicated to impart an education enjoyed by the children. The children love to address them as AKKAS (elder sister) and feel free to relate.
- The School engages qualified and experienced faculties who visit the school periodically and keep improving the performance and introducing new methodologies.
- The children are very safe while being in the school and enough Ayahs are employed to tak care of the personal hygienic needs of the children.
- It has a nice building built and donated to the Tamil Nadu Govt. by The Rotary Central Madras Club, Chennai after the devastating Tsunami hit Nagapattinam.
- The school meant for Fishermen families is very close to their homes.
- Many Rotarians and other philanthropic people offer help to provide computers, free uniforms, foot wares and many awards for the best performing students.
BUT VIDYARAMBAM DOES NOT GET ENOUGH FUND TO CONTINUE TO GIVE FREE EDUCATION TO THE UNDER-PRIVILEGED YET VERY BRIGHT CHILDREN. WE SOLICIT LIBERAL SUPPORT. IT COSTS Rs. 8,000 PER CHILD PER ACADEMIC YEAR.
