| Master Trainers Training at Sirkali with fruitful results |

About 40 participants were drawn from all over Tamil Nadu where Vidyarambam is established. All Coordinators, Assessors, Trainers and a few new prospective tutors gathered at the Branch Office of Vidyarambam at Sirkali in Nagapattinam District. The Training program was inaugurated by Ranganathan the President of the Trust on 21.04.2011. The Project Manager Karthika, State Asst Coordinators Prabhavathi and Muthukumarasamy were taking initiative to conduct the training. The Nagai District Coordinator Kavitha organized the arrangements of the program. Refresher Training on English Basic Grammar was conducted by the Master Trainers Ananthi and Savitha under the guidance of Ranganathan and Karthika for 3 days from 21.04.2011. The English Teachers and the Assistant Teachers were given the opportunity to conduct each one a subject and show the status of their skill and ability. Akila, Sumathi and Baby the teachers of Rotary Vidyarambam School took the lessons of phonems of letters of English alphabet. The training was very useful to all the trainees to refresh and practice in the English language. Many of them felt they were relieved of what fear and hesitation they had and have become more confident in dealing with English language. Importance to Spoken English was given and all the participants enjoyed the conversation sessions. The participants were divided into groups and each group was given a topic and demonstrate conversation. Senior teachers like Prabhavathi, Thilaka Malar, Kaliammal, Ananthi, Savitha, Rosy Marial spoke in English about their experience in Vidyarambam. Kruthika from our Model School spoke on Cricket highlighting Gautham Ghambir as her favorite player. A visible improvement in the knowledge and skills of using the English language among the English Teachers and Trainers was seen. The Lesson Plan for Class VI, VII and VIII to conduct the English classes was discussed and finalized. The team was getting ready to train many more English Teachers to take the challenge of a big plan of conducting about 400 batches of English classes in Govt. Schools in the academic year 2011-2012. The Training in Tamil followed on the next 2 days. The importance of teaching the Tamil language the mother tongue to the children of Tamil Nadu with an aim to read and write without spelling and grammar mistakes and to speak with correct pronunciation was the emphasis of the training. Kumudavalli from the Rotary Vidyarambam School conducted a grammar session for Tamil. Vimala from Ariyalur, Hema from Trichy and Kavitha from Nagai explained the different usages of each item of the Teaching Material Kit developed in Vidyarambam. Model School teachers were asked to show how to give practice to the KG level children in the pre-writing and pre-reading of languages and numbers. Karthika the Project Manager emphasized the importance of correct pronunciation of a few difficult letters of Tamil language. She suggested that children could be asked to prepare a text for any advertisement which will kindle their creative thinking and their vocabulary will improve. The Training session in Science was very interesting. Toy Trainers Nithya, Vinodhini, Assessor Rama Devi, our Model School Teacher Kruthika explained various principles of science. Many practical demonstrations were made to the benefit of the participants. Finally the sessions were taken on Math by our Model School Teachers Jayasuguna, Baby and Akila. Starting from the basic concept of counting they went about explaining all concepts up to the Fraction, Decimal etc in a simple and easy methodology. Sharing of knowledge, skills and methodologies between the trainees is the highlight of the technique adopted by Vidyarambam during all trainings. Participation of all the Teachers from our Model school with the Coordinators, Assessors, Trainers and Tutors of the Trust gave very fruitful result and was greatly appreciated by all the participants. They all thankfully expressed that they depart with added knowledge and new vigour and confidence. |
