| Visit to Vidyarambam Learning Centers and Model School by representatives of Polaris Foundation and Vedanta Foundation on April 6th and 7th |
|
Ms. Padmini Sharathkumar and Ms. Sumathi from Polaris Foundation and Ms. Chaamundi and Ms. Usha
from Vedanta Foundation visited the Vidyarambam’s Easy Learning English course in action at Govt.
Middle School in Thittai on April 6th. In the same evening they visited the Vidyarambam Learning Centers
in Alaveli and Nangur villages in Sirkali Taluk. On April 7th they visited the Rotary Vidyarambam School at
Nagapattinam and the Mobile Toy Library in the Govt. Middle School at Manigramam.
All of the visitors appreciated the performance of the children and the teaching staff as well. They
expressed satisfaction over the teaching methodology adopted by Vidyarambam. Ms. Padmini was
surprised to see Class 2 students in the Rotary Vidyarambam School deftly handling basic grammar
of the English language. At the same time she could witness and know for herself how poor 9th STD
students in a Govt. school were lacking in the skills of using the English language grammatically. She
went on offering to start English Course for higher classes in that school in the next year.
Ms. Chaamundi was keen on demonstrating a novel method of telling stories to children. Vidyarambam
teachers felt benefitted seeing her technique and started adopting it immediately with great joy. Ms.
Chaamundi dwelt deep into finding many new types of educational toys used in the Mobile Toy Library
by Vidyarambam. It was of great attraction to her.
Ms. Chaamundi and Ms. Padmini were wondering how Vidyarambam was successful to identify the
needy villages located in the remotest areas of the district. They did not hesitate to appreciate the
Vidyarambam volunteers for the dedicated service they render to the young children in the inaccessible
villages.
Mr. Rajakumar, CEO of Vidyarambam, Ms. Karthika, Project Manager, Ms. Kavitha, District Coordinator
and a few monitoring and teaching staff accompanied the visitors and explained to them the nuances
and the intricacies of the operations.
