The Great Wall of Education Goes to the Villages

There was an appeal to the public to donate books to the Book Wall during September 2010. The

response was tremendous and a great number of books was collected during the event. We, as

partners for the Book Wall, have taken the job of distributing the books directly among the children.

The distribution has begun now, starting with villages in Sankarankudiyiruppu and Sankarankovil –

in Tirunelveli district. The books have been on display at a public place for the children to pick what

they like. The response has been great and children have crowded these centers to choose from the

spread. Our next phase of distribution will be in the districts of Ariyalur, Trichy and Nagapattinam.

Vidyarambam had agreed to distribute the books in rural parts of 6 districts directly to the under-

privileged children. Ranganathan and Ramya from the Head Office, and Mrs. Prabavathi and Mr.

Muthukumarasamy the State Coordinators of Vidyarambam Trust witnessed the distribution event

on Dec 4th at Sankarankudiyiruppu and on Dec 6th at Sankarankovil.
