| Day-out for the Nagapattinam Model School Kids |
|
It was a fun-filled two day trip to Chennai for children from our Nagapattinam School. On Saturday the 20th November morning, 32 pairs of eyes showed eagerness and excitement about the excursion awaiting them. Boarding the Toy Vans, they took in the sights of the city and finally arrived at the KIDS exhibition at the Chennai Trade Centre. Strolling through rows of stalls showcasing a variety of books, toys and eatables, they were thrilled to see humanoid robots in action and artisans making pottery. They were reluctant to finish their games and leave. The next stop was the Guindy Children’s Park. After a quick lunch, the Toy Vans whizzed through the traffic to the Park. The children were delighted to see a variety of deers and birds. The main attraction was the Snake Park and the kids were awed by the snakes and the hisses that came out of them. They returned with memories of leisurely animals and the beautiful green habitat. The next day the Van brought them to the St. George’s School at Kilpauk for an event, Bala Kalakkar, organized by AIESEC. The event began with enthusiastic moves from the kids to the drum beats of percussionist Murali Krishna. What followed were impromptu dances to the fast beats of songs. Then came the main purpose of the event, the painting competition. With white charts laid in front of them, it was time to bring their imaginations on colour. They painted trees, ships, Indian flags, houses and whatever excited them. They then gave a joyful dance performance and the trip came to an end. The children left with wide smiles on their faces. Our Teachers Win a Prize at the AECED Story-telling Competition Six teachers from the Nagapattinam School took part in a Story-telling Competition organized by the Indian Association for Preschool Education (AECED) at the Maharishi Vidya Mandir on the 20th of November. We are delighted to see our teachers win a prize for their performance. Hearty Congratulations!! |
