Fun-filled moments from Our Annual Meet

The Annual Meet 2010 was celebrated with all grandeur. The events started with Cultural performance by Vidyarambam children. Mrs. T. Karthika, Project Manager gave welcome address. Mr. V. Sriram, Trustee-Treasurer of the Trust presided over the proceedings.

Swami Padmasthanandaji, Secretary Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, T.Nagar, Chennai gave an address on ‘Values of Life’ and gave away prizes to the children.

The Coordinators Mrs. V. Prabavathi, Mr. A. Muthukumarasamy, Ms. G. Vimala, Ms. V. Kavitha and Ms. Ananthi spoke about their experiences in Vidyarambam. Similarly the newly joined Public Relations Officers Mr. Abishek and Mr. DineshKumar gave their impressions about the Trust which inspired them to join the Trust.

Seven teachers from different areas participated in the oratorical competition and each one chose a subject and spoke. Kavikko Gnanaselvan and Kavignar Muthulingam were the judges and selected the Prize winners.

Mrs. R.Vasuki I.A.S., gave a lecture on ‘Role of NGOs in Social Welfare’ and appreciated the excellent service rendered by Vidyarambam especially giving emphasis to women uplift taken care by the Trust.

Following that, Mr. K. Allaudin I.A.S., gave the keynote address and wished the Trust to achieve its goal by the year 2012.

Mr. Paul C. Pandian from Pratham US graced the events by his presence and gave away the prizes to all the coordinators and staff members.

Rotarian K.B. Sridhar presented his project ‘Digital Literacy’ by which many rural women will learn to operate computers easily with the instructions in Tamil.

Mrs. Prema Veeraraghavan and Miss A. Meenakshi members of the Resource center attended the program and spoke about their experience in the early years of Vidyarambam.

Dr. Nithya Sivan gave a speech about the benefits of Ayurvedic medicines. Mrs. Harini Tippu, famous Playback Singer gave away the Ayuvedic Medicine Kits to all volunteers.

Honorary Coordinators Mr. S. Ponnambalam from Kanyakumari, Mr. T.K. S. Kailasam from Ariyalur District and Ms. Madhura Honorary Public Relations Coordinators were all honoured by the Trustees Mr. J. Vijay, Mr.C. K. Sridhar and Mr.V. Sriram. The Best Teacher Award was given away to 96 tutors by the Trustees.

The programme came to an end with Kavignar Mullai Nadavarasu conducting a discourse with songs and excellent description of human behavior in day to day life.
