SCHOOL ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATED ON MARCH 5, 2010 The second year Annual Day of our Model School at Nagapattinam was celebrated with complete participation of all the children and the parents. In the morning at 8.30, the competitions started with KOLAM drawing. About 38 children from STD I to III participated with great enthusiasm. All the three winners were girls, though many boys too tried their hands at the KOLAM competition. Following that, sports competitions like Long Jump, Running Race, Frog Race, Musical chair, Tug of war, Passing the rope, Water filling, Beads collecting, Skipping, Potato Game etc. were conducted and the winners were photographed at the Winning Stand. In the afternoon, at the appointed time of 3.00 p.m. the Event started with Prayer. SRUTHIKA a student of Class III gave welcome address following which there was a glamorous Welcome Dance. In the cultural program presented by the children, Dances, Songs, Speeches and Dramas were enacted by them. The entire cultural program was highly appreciated by the big audience of parents and invitees. By continuous clapping, the participating children and the teachers who were behind each event got encouragement and felt delighted. Lion Prof.. S. Sivaraman, Honorary Coordinator of Vidyarambam Trust presided over the proceedings. Officers from the Education Dept and Police Dept attended the function. The School Annual Report was read by Mrs. T. Karthika, Project Manager of Vidyarambam Trust. Mr. Ranganathan the President of the Trust and the Correspondent of the School spoke on the salient points of the Report. A parent by name Mrs. Punitha spoke on behalf of the parents and gave a good impression about the performance of the School. Mr. Seenuvasan A.E.E.O.and Mr.I. Easwaran ADSP (Crime) spoke appreciating the involvement of the parents most of them from the Tsunami affected Fishermen community. The prizes were awarded to all the participants of the cultural program, the Rank holders in the Mid Term test of all classes and to all the winners of the Sports and other competitions held in the school. In one way or other all the 158 students got prizes. Prof. Sivaraman in his presidential concluding speech appreciated the school for taking care to award a prize to all the students without creating a complex feeling among the children. He said he could see the progress of the school within 2 years from the exhibited art work by the children, praised the efforts of the team of teachers and wished the school to grow into a Higher Secondary School in the coming years.
