Overview
Vidyarambam has the following programs:
- Pre-Primary (Balwadi) for children of 3-5 age group
- Remedial Course (Junior) for children of class 2 & 3
- Remedial Course (Senior) for children of class 4,5 & 6
- Read India Campaign for children of 6-11 age group
- Children Library for children of 6-16 age group
- Mobile Toy Library for children of class 1 to 8
The curriculum of Balwadi program has 3 components:
- Tamil
- English
- Numeracy
A detailed syllabus has been developed to cover in 11 months.
Academics

Arithmetic
- identifies the numbers
- learns place values
- does simple additions and subtractions
- does addition with carry over
- does subtractions with borrow
The curriculum of Remedial Course (Senior) has 4 components:
- Tamil Language
- Arithmetic
- School syllabus
- English Langauge
A detailed syllabus has been developed to cover in 8 months.
Tamil Language skills:
- forms sentences of his own about a topic given
- reads stories fluently without mistakes and with comprehension
- analyses unfamiliar texts and formulate questions
- goes through aural comprehension tests
- writes sentences dictated without mistake
Arithmetic
- learns place values
- recites multiplication tables by heart
- does addition with carry over
- does subtractions with borrow
- does multiplications of 3 digitd
- does divisions of 3 digitd
- does fractions, decimal, percentage, word sums
- does simple graphing, estimation and measurement
School syllabus
- explain science concepts with practical tests and simulations
- explain social science by demonstrative methods
- explain environmental science using models, maps and charts
English Language
- Must know minimum 400 words including verbs, adverbs and adjectives in daily use
- Must speak fluently simple sentences
- Must comprehend questions and answer them
Social skills
- sings songs with actions
- acts in dramas and plays
- learns public speaking skill
READ INDIA CAMPAIGN
The curriculum of READ INDIA has 2 components:

CHILDREN LIBRARY

- must be able to tell the story read and answer questions
- child reading beyond 120 books given a prize
MOBLE TOY LIBRARY
- carries about 200 educational toys and games
- trained volunteers guide the children to handle the toys and play the games
- volunteers sing English & Tamil songs and children chant
- halts at a school for 2-3 hours and allow children to enjoy playing on toys
- attends 2 schools per day
- vehicle goes around villages daily
